Commercial Manager

This role can be based out of our London or Haywards Heath office - with flexibility for remote working arrangements.

The opportunity

We are looking for an experienced and energetic Commercial Manager to join our expanding group as we move our businesses out of a start-up frame of mind to scale out globally

What you’ll be doing:

  • Conduct market research and analysis to create detailed business plans on commercial opportunities (expansion, business development, etc.)
  • Assisting the Commercial Team with internationalisation 
  • Help develop and implement commercial strategies according to our group goals and objectives – with an aim to accelerate growth
  • Business development including strategic account management
  • Ensuring that the financial aspects and impact of a contract are clear to all parties
  • Resolving ad-hoc contractual and commercial problems
  • Work closely with the Finance team and business teams including coordinating regular pricing reviews
  • Monitor performance of commercial activities using key metrics and prepare reports for senior management
  • Assist in setting financial targets and budget development and monitoring

  • The successful applicant will have a track record of success in overseeing projects from inception to completion, and identifying and mitigating risks involved. This role involves collaborating with other departments as well as eventually managing a cross-functional team

Necessary skills required to perform your task:

  • Strong management and organisational skills
  • Superior financial modelling background and comfort around numbers/spreadsheets
  • Compelling spoken, written and visual communication skills
  • History of meeting project deadlines
  • Solid problem solving, decision making and analytical capabilities
  • Comprehensive knowledge, not necessarily experience, about the industry
  • Comfort with simplifying complex ideas and presenting at various levels of a business up to C-suite level
  • Strong attention to detail, hunger to learn, and can-do attitude
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
